The AGACC-II partners are, or will be, involved in two international networks.
The international Network for the Detection of Atmospheric Composition Change (NDACC) is composed of more than 70 high-quality, remote-sensing research stations for observing and understanding the physical and chemical state of the stratosphere and upper troposphere and for assessing the impact of stratosphere changes on the underlying troposphere and on global climate.
Several NDACC stations host instruments operated by AGACC-II teams: Jungfraujoch (Swiss Alps), Saint-Denis at Ile de la RĂ©union (Indian Ocean, South East of Africa), Ukkel (Belgium).
This is a global network of ground-based Fourier Transform Spectrometers recording direct solar spectra in the near-infrared spectral region.
From these spectra, very accurate and precise total columns of CO2, CH4, N2O, HF, CO, H2O, and HDO are retrieved.
Our objective is to become member of this network with FTIR greenhouse gas measurements at St Denis - Ile de la RĂ©union.
TCCON provides an essential validation resource for SCIAMACHY, GOSAT, and the future OCO-2.
